CALLING FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Proposed Sexual Health Nursing Course in Brisbane
Gain the clinical skills, confidence and knowledge to expand your role in caring for the sexual health of your patients and community.

ASHM is seeking expressions of interest for a proposed 'Fundamentals of Sexual Health Nursing course' to be held in Brisbane on Wednesday 9th of May, 2018. The intention is to run the course the day before the APNA National Conference which is in  Brisbane on the 10th and 12th of May. 

Date:  Wednesday 9 May, 2018
Time:  8.30am to 5pm
Location: TBC - Brisbane Central
Cost:  FREE for QLD nurses – Lunch and refreshments will be provided

Course details:
This 1 day workshop will enable you to increase your knowledge and skills in HIV and sexual health. Aligned with the Sexual Health Nursing Competency Standards for Primary Health Care Nurses (2013), the course will provide you with the clinical skills, confidence and knowledge to expand your role in caring for the sexual health of your patients and community. In addition, there is a session focusing on methods to advocate for including sexual health in your role within your workplace, including resources to assist you to negotiate this process.

The workshop, coordinated by ASHM, has been developed through collaboration between the NSW STI Programs Unit, APNA and ASHHNA. This course has been endorsed by APNA and allows participants to claim 6 CPD hours.

This course is funded by Queensland Health.
