ASHM International Programs is seeking applications for an enthusiastic, effective and efficient Project Manager and M&E Adviser. This role will provide quality project management as well as monitoring and evaluation technical inputs for the Sexual & Reproductive Health Integration Project (SRHIP) in Papua New Guinea, with an estimated role delineation of 75% Project Management and 25% M&E - although this may vary according to project needs.

The International Project Manager and M&E Adviser, as a key role within the ASHM International Programs team, will contribute to business and organisational development and undertake project management for further ASHM International projects, as required. The position, to be based at the ASHM Head Office in Sydney, requires frequent travel to PNG and potential travel across the Asia Pacific region.

The work of ASHM International Programs is largely focused on a mentoring model that builds long term relationships with clinical sites, organisations and governments to provide workforce development through training, mentoring and guided implementation of clinical guidelines and advanced practice in HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health.

The SRH Integration Project (SRHIP) is a new collaborative project under the DFAT-funded PNG Partnership Fund for Health & Education, led by Catholic Church Health Services with the consortia comprising ASHM, Burnet Institute, Anglicare and Igat Hope. SRHIP aims to expand the reach and coverage of STI, HIV, SRH and primary health services within CCHS & Anglicare, by developing integrated models of care that build on strengths of current facility operations and seek to increase quality, scale-up and efficiency for long-term sustainability.

This is a full-time contract position with phase one funding up to 30 March 2018 and an anticipated extension of funding to 30 April 2020.

The ASHM International Project Manager and M&E Adviser will:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage specified ASHM International projects (SRHIP and other projects) including operational management, work planning, finance management, logistics, reporting and contract compliance
  • Provide high-level Monitoring & Evaluation technical input for the SRH Integration Project
  • Manage staff and consultants in line with ASHM policies and procedures, including performance management
  • Manage relationships with funders, regional partners, non-government and government organisations, professional societies and other stakeholders relevant to ASHM International Programs
  • Maintain a sound understanding of ASHM International, the content and context of projects being managed, and the international health and development landscape
  • Contribute to, and drive, ASHM International strategy and business development
  • Promote, and operate in, the best interests of ASHM and International Programs at all times.
